At the Greek Theatre of Syracuse return the classical performances with Coefore and Eumenidi by Aeschylus, directed by Davide Livermore, the Bacchae by Euripides directed by Carlus Padrissa, and Le Nuvole by Aristophanes directed by Antonio Calenda.

With due regard for its institutional mission, The INDA Foundation has scheduled for the 2021 season three unpublished productions that aim to renew the classical drama through the gaze of great contemporary artists and propose in part the program of 2020 canceled cause Covid.
The 56. Season scheduled from July 3 to August 21, 2021 provides two returns and an absolute debut. The Catalan Carlus Padrissa, one of the founders of the Fura dels Baus, a company celebrated throughout the world for his ability to rewrite the language of contemporary theatre, made his debut at the Greek Theatre in Syracuse with the direction of the Bacchae.
After the success of Elena di Euripide in 2019, Davide Livermore, one of the most appreciated Italian directors of the moment, returns to Syracuse with the second and third acts of Orestea di Eschilo, Coefore and Eumenidi, a co-production with the National Theatre of Genoa decided to commemorate the centenary of the revival, with the same title, of the classical performances at the Greek Theatre after the Great War and the Spanish epidemic. This event will be dedicated to an interactive exhibition of vintage photos exhibited at the Inda headquarters from summer 2021 to winter 2022.
Antonio Calenda, one of the masters of the Italian direction, who will direct the comedy Le Nuvole by Aristofane, returns.
Euripide’s Ifigenia in Tauride, directed by Jacopo Gassmann, was reprogrammed in 2022.
Starting from Thursday, April 29, it will be possible to book tickets for the 2021 season, and convert tickets purchased in 2020 to attend the shows scheduled this year.
